Interior rooms, such as atriums and courtyards, need cleaning. If access to a glass roof or façade is not planned during the construction of the building, the access can present challenges as lifts are often not possible to use.

In most indoor atriums, the rope access technique can be a cost-effective way of carrying out cleaning and other maintenance tasks.

When ordering, Høyden will always carry out an inspection to ensure the customer that the solution we choose is the most cost-effective and appropriate solution for the customer. We will investigate anchor points and whether it is possible to access the areas that present challenges using access techniques (rope access).

Once we have found anchor points, we will establish a rig so that technicians can move safely by rope to the points that are otherwise inaccessible. Technicians are always anchored in two different points at any given time.

Assignments in indoor atriums are often cleaning glass roofs, removal of dirt, grease and dust that settles. In addition to cleaning, we also perform other tasks according to the customer's wishes, once the rig has been installed. These can be simple maintenance tasks such as replacing lighting, hanging up / taking down Christmas decorations, painting or condition assessments of building mass / fittings indoors.

For such assignments, we are dependent on having suitable anchor points. It is rare that we do not find something that can be used. In that case, we will make a recommendation for how the customer can solve the maintenance assignment. For repetitive assignments, we will look at the possibility of creating permanent anchor points such as bolts that will not spoil the building's appearance.
